Closing Agent Approval

Closing agent pre-approval is required on all closing agents. If you have not funded a loan with AFR previously, the agent must complete the Agent Approval Form (link below) and return it by uploading it into AFR Loan Center.

Settlement Agent Approval Application

The following documents need to be submitted to the same email address listed on the Approval for Conditions document:

  • Current E & O Insurance Policy
  • Wire Instructions
  • Closing Protection Letter (CPL), Note: CPLs are not applicable in New York
  • Fidelity Bond (New York only)
  • Copy of Escrow Agent state license for properties located in: AZ, CA, ID, IA, IL, OR, or WA.

If the subject property State does not issue a CPL, AFR requires a copy of the Fidelity Bond Insurance and a copy of the Errors & Omissions (E&O) Policy. Each policy must have a minimum coverage of $1,000,000.

Note: AFR has a 48 turn time for agent approvals from the time of submission. Previously approved closing agents may have become inactive 90 days after last submission; therefore, new submission of documents may be necessary for re-activation.
